Bosco and I were at the dog park. Bosco started running the whole length of the park with some other big dogs. (he normally plays with smaller dogs) Then they were jumping on each other and wresteling and Bosco collapsed! I ran over to see if he was ok, thinking maybe he broke a leg or something. His back legs were not working, he was trying to get up but was unable to. Then his front legs stopped and then he just passed out. He stopped breathing, his heart stopped. He died for a moment! It was terrifing! All the people at the park had gathered around. One of them started doing chest compressions on him. He slowly started breathing again. I ran and got the car and drove it down the park (the only cool part of this story!) and put him in the car. We drove to the animal hospital. By time we got there Bosco was acting normal again. After waiting there for hours the Dr. basically said he just fainted, but to follow up with the normal vet. We got medicine for him and left. We took him to the reg. vet and found out he has Valley Fever. Which in rare cases can be fatel. Humans and dogs can get it. It is in the dust and that is how you get it. We are very hopful that with high doses of medicine and a lots of love Bosco will be just fine. But in the mean time we are not allowed to exercise him very much. The same thing could happen only he wouldnt get up this time! So Bosco has so much pent up energy! He's used to long walks everyday! We feel so bad for him!
