Halloween

Our Halloween was pretty laid back this year.  It was in the middle of house hunting so making it to parties was a little stressful!  Our ward didn't do a Halloween party (lame) so we went to the trunk or treat at Corinne's.  They had a chilli dinner, which I was thankful for because chilli was relatively safe on our allergy free diet.  Croix was not too interested in eating dinner, he was much  more interested in playing with cousins and getting busy with the trick or treating!  He was a little shy at first with the trick or treating but once he realized people were just giving him candy he warmed up pretty fast!

A couple weekends before Halloween my Mom came to visit.  She was such a life saver as she baby sat kiddos for whole days while we house hunted and hunted for a new recliner.  Although they don't know it our children were so thankful that they didn't have to spend that much time in the car!  While Brent and I were out looking at rental homes Trenton and Seth came over and they all carved pumpkins.  I was a little sad we missed out on it but we really just had to find a place to live!

Seth and Croix were so proud of "their" pumpkins that my Mom and Trenton carved!

It was also Trenton's birthday a few days before Halloween so my Mom made a wheat, egg, dairy, soy free cake.  Of course it was topped in frosting and candy we couln't have, but you better believe that we just scrapped all that off and enjoyed some cake!!!

Croix also had a Halloween party at preschool that he loved.  The parents got to come the last 10 minutes of class.  All of the kids were so adorable in their costumes.  The kids recited an adorable poem for us.  I was very impressed at how well Croix knew it and what a good job he did reciting it!  Then we helped make skeletons.  Croix and I had fun putting it together, Maizy was just ready for a nap!  I love seeing Croix at preschool with his friends.  It's so fun to see him growing up and becoming such a sweet little boy!

Halloween night we met up with some friends in our neighborhood, the Mosmans, and Trenton and his girlfriend Abby brought Seth over.  We went out trick or treating in our neighborhood.  We had never been home on Halloween so it was fun to see what the neighborhood was like on Halloween.

There were quite a few people handing out candy.
A few neighbors put up a shade tent, strobe light and DJ table and were having quite the party!  I think I might have enjoyed it even more then Croix!  It was fun running into people we know.  Made me a little sad knowing we would be moving soon.  We had lots of fun dressing up and hanging out with friends and family.

Upon finishing this post I'm thinking maybe it wasn't such a low key Halloween after all!
