For Sale

We are selling our house!  Short selling to be exact.  I couldn't be happier.  So excited to be moving on to a new plan.  We'll have to rent for a couple years before we can buy again.  But during that time we'll save money for a down payment.  Short selling will allow us to buy another home a lot sooner than staying in this and trying to save.  In my perfect world an investor will buy the house and we'll just be able to rent it back from them, at least long enough so that we're not  moving with a newborn!  Are we a little crazy to list our house for sale when I'm nine moths pregnant?  Eh maybe but people have done crazier things.  We listed the house this morning and our agent has already emailed that we have "two strong offers"  in the time it took to compose this we're now up to 5 offers (one is 35K more then the listing price) and 3 people coming to view the home tomorrow.  Now we can just hope the bank works quickly with us so we can figure out what the heck we're going to do and where we're going to live!

I will say this has been quite the undertaking while I'm supposed to be on bed rest!  There is all sorts of paper work to gather, fill out and get to the agent.  Had to get the house super duper clean.  So I'd clean a little, contractions would start, I'd rest, go back to cleaning.  I've been trying to do as much as I can at the same time as taking it as easy as I can.  Brent has been amazing.  Yesterday he worked a full day of work, came home, made dinner, took Croix to the grocery store, the library to get me a book, came home, went home teaching, home again, then off to pick up pictures from Walgreens (so I can have pictures of my family while I'm at the hospital), picked up a movie for Croix and I to watch today, did a load of laundry or two, made his lunch and ironed his clothes for work the next day, oh and we did a hypnosis script.   Whew!  I'm tired just typing all that.  All the while giving me instructions to take it easy when I tried to help him.  I love him!  I love that he's stepped up and gone above and beyond!  With out being asked, or instructed, well I did give him a grocery list and told him what errands needed done, but I never had to ask him to make dinner, or do laundry, he just jumped in and did it!  Man I've got a good one!

You can see the listing of our house here. It's absolutely disgusting the price it's listed for compared to what we paid for it!  But that is exactly why we're short selling!

The agent said he wasn't happy with how his photos turned out so I spent nap time today taking more pictures for him (I offered).  I don't think he has added any of them yet.  So just for my own satisfaction I'm going to post them here. To document our home!

Missing

We've had two friends recently who's father's have passed away.  It reminds me of just how hard it was when Jim first passed away.  Makes me miss him.  With Maizy coming any time I miss him even more.  He was such a wonderful Papa.  He not only loved his Grand kids, but loved that they loved him.  He loved spending time with them.  I imagine Jim and Maizy up there having a little last minute chat.  I'm pretty sure he's telling her to come be a trouble maker.  I know she'll be bringing his love with her.

As much as we know he is in a better place and doing the Lords work I am still sad to know we will never get this picture with Maizy and that here in this life, she will never know her Papa.

Split

They split our primary class last Sunday!!!  We now only have 10 kids on our roll!  This Sunday I taught.  The lesson was about reverence so I'm sure that was helpful but the class was so much more reverent!  I felt the spirit.  I hope the kids did as well.  It's amazing how much easier it is to help the kids be reverent, to hold their attention, to feel as though I'm actually doing some good rather then just doing crowd control with half as many kids!  Ironic to me that this change comes just as I'm about to have a baby and be released.

Zoolander

If you have never seen the movie Zoolander you will not get this, but for those of you who have.....
I took this picture the other day and could not belive Croix's perfect Zoolander look!

Man I love him!!!

36 Weeks

At my appointment on Thursday the doctor came in and looked at the NST and says "wow you're really pounding out those contractions. Can you feel them?"  I wanted to reply nope, my whole uterus is rock hard but I sure don't feel a thing. Instead I just said yes. He also told me that I have too much amniotic fluid still, I have for the past month.  He concluded our appointment by saying that with gestational diabetes, extra fluid, lots of contractions, a history of preterm labor, it was pretty likely that I will deliver early.

That night I was having lots of pressure waves (contractions) and thought I'd time them "just for fun".  I have them all the time, they didn't seem like that much more then normal.  But I wondered if it was enough for the doctor to comment how often were they happening.  So I timed them, for a couple hours and I was surprised to see I was having them every 5ish minutes lasting 45-60 seconds.  If you are unaware, that is early stages of your birthing time (labor).  I figured if they hadn't gotten any longer, stronger or closer together in two hours then they most likely weren't going to.  I went to bed and went to sleep.

The next morning I was still having them quite often, although with getting Croix and myself up and fed there was no time, to time them.  I was annoyed with them though.  So I took a hot bath with ginger.  Croix and I had fun.  They slowed down.  I called the midwife later that morning and she said I'm doing everything I can, she would recommend modified bed rest.  Just really decreasing my activity and taking it as easy as possible.  So Croix and I have been hanging out around the house.  I defenatly notice them increas when I'm more physically active.  We went to Target yesterday and by time we left they were coming pretty good.  We'll see how the week goes!  I have them all the time.  Just enough to be annoying and uncomfortable, not enough to do anything, which at this point is a good thing.  We have our last Hypnobabies class this Saturday, I just want to make it till then.  That will also put me at 37 weeks which is full term, which is always a good thing.  It is weird to think that with where I am now in this pregnancy Croix was born in 2 days!

I am feeling quite ready, if it wasn't for our class I don't know that I would care too much if she came today!  Sleep is not so bad since I discovered the joy of Benadryl!  Heart burn has started to rear it's ugly head.  Although no where near as badly as I had it with Croix.  I think mostly because I'm carrying Maizy so much lower.  I do feel tired and worn out so easy.  I have a spot in my mid back that just hurts, most of the time, especially when I sit!  Which made church a joy today.  As we were walking though Target yesterday I realized I am really waddling!  I commented as much to Brent and he said, well you are 9 months pregnant.  Yes, yes I am.

I feel like I have to get everything done and enjoy every minute I can before baby comes (not that I won't enjoy things once she is here I just know that our whole world is going to change).  I went and got a 2 hour massage yesterday.  Yes it was heaven!  I have our bag packed, birth plan written, arraignments made for Croix.  Baby clothes are washed.  Car seat is almost ready to go (just need to wash the cover, I had to wait for Brent to pull it apart.)  Brent is going to start driving himself in to work starting tomorrow.  I want to go to the temple one more time, since I know it's going to be a while before I get to do that again.  I also want to go on a date with Brent.  Maybe a girls night?  Too much for a lady who is supposed to be on bed rest?  We'll see.

I'm surprised at how calm and excited I am to welcome Maizy into our family!  I can't wait to meet her and see what she looks like.  To kiss her sweet head.  I absolutely cannot wait for Croix to meet her and see him as a big brother.  He truly is so excited!  So excited to think it could be as soon as a week (ish).

Hypnobabies

When I was pregnant with Croix I wanted to do a natural birth.  I scared myself out of it.  I don't feel like his birth was a bad experience.  But I know it's not what I really wanted.  There were definitely things that I feel would have gone much smoother and faster had it been a natural birth.  This time around I knew I wanted a natural birth.  I also remembered how miserable I was with Croix before I got an epidural.  I remember thinking, I can't do this.  And throwing up, and wanting to cry.  Yep, I remember, yet I still want a natural birth this time.  I know that I can do it, but I also know I need to be prepared and have the right tools to be able to do it.  I know I can't just go to the hospital thinking "I can do this" and that things will be different and I'll be able to do any better.  So I started researching natural births.  I found Hypnobabies.  After lots of research and reading testimonials I decided this is what I wanted to do.

A basic description of what Hypnobabies is, is using self hypnosis and hypnotic anesthetist during your birthing time (labor). so that you can have a easy, comfortable birthing experience.  The class is a 6 week course each class lasting 3 hours.  I have daily home work and a mini hypnosis sessions.  I listen to joyful birthing affirmations every day.  We talked a lot about fear, and how it creates a physical reaction in your body and how that slows down your birthing time (labor).  In Hypnobabies they realize that there are subconscious attachments, fears, to words associated with birth.  So they use (and encourage us to use and embrace) different verbiage for some things.  Labor, is your birthing time, contractions are pressure or birthing waves, etc.  As I think about having birthing waves rather than contractions, it does mentally make it seem much more possible to have an easy birthing.  I can honestly say I am excited about a natural birth!  I am not scared, or nervous.  I know that I am going to have an easy, fast, comfortable birthing.  I am so excited about what a wonderful experience it will be.  Brent has been nothing but supportive and on board 100%.  He reads a hypnosis script to me every other night.  He is not scared about supporting me in a natural birth.  We both feel prepared and ready.

We will be birthing at the same hospital where Croix was born.  They are a very natural birth friendly hospital.  They even have laboring tubs I will be able to use.  My midwifes are 100% supportive not only of a natural birth but also Hypnobabies.  We have a doula who will be attending our birth to help support both me and Brent.  I feel like we have great education, great support team, a great hospital to birth at, we are going to have such a beautiful and wonderful birthing experience!

Smarty Socks

Croix and I were playing and he found a (dirty) pair of Brent's socks and put them on.  He was cracking up at himself thinking it was so funny that he had Daddy's socks on.  I had him stand still so I could take a picture

Uploaded from the Photobucket Android App

where he then turned quite serious!  So although the picture doesn't seem like it, he was really cracking up at himself.  We were playing, with him in Brent's socks, and he said something smart.  I said "wow Mr. Croix, you're quite the smarty pants!"  He replies  "I no have pants, me Mr. smarty socks".  I busted up!  Yes indeed he is a little smarty socks!

Gas Station

Croix LOVES the gas station.  I think it's completely random, who loves the gas station?  When the weather was cooler we would walk to the gas station, occasionally get a hot coco.  Actually Croix and Daddy would do that, it was a special fun thing they did.  Now that it's super hot, he loves to go through the car wash, which he calls the wash down.  Last time we went I took a video of him, because I love his little face when we're going through.  It's a little long, but he's pretty adorable!

Excuse Me?!?!

Sunday Croix was doing awesome in sacrament meeting.  He was quietly playing, staying in our row, not being loud, not pestering people around us, he really was just being great!  I was sitting thinking, wow he's doing really good today.  Man my little boy is growing and learning!  Then I feel a tap on my shoulder from the person behind me followed by "Your son is being very disruptive".  I sat there shocked.  I had no clue what to say.  He was being SO GOOD!  In all of ten seconds I'm envisioning turning around and saying excuse me, I think he's doing really well.  If you have a problem you can move.  Or I'm sorry, with a dirty look.  Or do I just ignore this person?  I slowly turn around, to see a friend!  I can't even tell you the relief that washed over me!  I had no idea what I should say or do in a situation like that!?!  I told her I was so glad it was just her, I didn't know what to say except I thought he was doing really well.  She then smiled and said, he really is!!  Thank heavens I'm not blogging about a real confrontation like this at church!

Say What

I had a client schedule for 8 AM.  I was telling Brent that I was going to be working the next day.  It was also the same day/morning that Marilyn was coming to clean.  Brent says to me "did you get a babysitter or is Marilyn just going to do it?"  I literally laughed out loud!  Obviously he doesn't quite get it.  Sure I really dislike cleaning and I'm not so good at it, but a major part of my trade is that it's not really possible to get cleaning done with Croix right beside me.  He will try and get into cleaners, what I'm cleaning, cry because he wants attention.  I told him he didn't even know how funny I found that question!  Let him know who would be baby sitting, and went along with my day, every so often laughing at the ignorance of his question.  I love love that man!
