Exhausted

I probably shouldn't be blogging in this state of mind but oh well. I'm freaking tired! Maizy is a gassy baby and it seems to hit every night from about 9PM to about 1AM. Half the night I'm up feeding and then burping and changing and burping and comforting and burping. My arms hurt from burping her so much. I can't even get a good nap because Croix has decided he doesn't need a nap everyday any more. Although he does a pretty good job of being quiet during nap time he still makes noises occasionally that wake me up.  I'm dizzy I'm so tired! I just went into our bathroom and just cried and cried while Maizy screamed. Poor thing is just hurting, but I'm just so tired. This to shall pass right? Some how we'll make it through this. People survive gassy newborns and toddlers all the time right? We can do it too, I'm just not quite sure how at the moment.

Oh I am so sorry! It is okay to cry and okay for the baby to cry. This will pass and you can do it! I remember being so tired my eyes burned with Max and Kate. You are a good mama.

Have you tried simethicone? Crue cried all night long the first night we had him home. My mom ended up having to come over and take care of him so Jared and I could sleep more than 20 min and she'd just bring him in so I could feed him. Anyway, simethicone helps with gas. And you can give them as much as they need - it doesn't hurt them. You can get the cheap stuff at walmart (it's in a dropper) and just fill that dropper up and give it to her. Don't follow the dosage - that never worked for me. My SIL knew one of her kids would get gas when she ate chocolate but she wasn't about to give it up so she'd give him the simethicone before nursing him and it would help a lot. I hope this helps. And don't be afraid to ask someone to watch your kids so you can get a little nap in. I'm sure they'd be more than willing to help you out. Maybe even work out some sort of trade. It's definitely hard when you have a fussy baby, especially during the night, but somehow you'll make it through. Just take it day by day. And seriously, if you haven't already, get to the store and get some of those gas drops! (If it's the same time every night I'd give her the drops before that feeding. And it makes me wonder if it's gas building up all day from other burps that aren't making it out? Or maybe something you're eating that's causing it. Figuring out newborns is always difficult but SO worth it!)

Cason was so bad I didn't sleep the first month. We finally got him on medicine. We had him on Zantac. Some people have to use Prilosec. I hated giving him drugs so young but it helped SO much. He was a completely different baby after that. I hope it gets better soon!

I remember Trent especially had a crying time nightly. It began earlier than yours. Usually around 5 or 6 pm and lasting until 9 or 10. I would just sit and rock him. It lasted about a month, but I really don't remember. Good luck you will be fine.
